Reimagining Hope: A Bold,
Transformative Approach
The Utah Campus

Utah is embarking on a groundbreaking new undertaking—a transformative campus—to help those experiencing homelessness rebuild their lives.

About

Located on a 15.85-acre parcel at 2520 N 2200 W, Salt Lake City, UT 84116, the planned facility will provide approximately 1,300 beds, creating a sustainable and transformative solution to address homelessness in Utah.

Designed to complement the existing homeless resource centers, shelters and service providers throughout Utah, the transformative campus is a place where those experiencing homelessness can find help for recovery, mental health, healthcare, employment, criminal justice assistance, and housing through services and treatment accessible in a single location.

“This is more than a campus, it’s a turning point for Utah of reimagining hope,” said Wayne Niederhauser, retired state homeless coordinator. “It will further fulfill the identified need to provide additional beds and treatment in Utah’s homeless response while providing individuals served by the campus a transformative path from crisis to stability and, ultimately, thriving.”

Mission

Utah intends to change history; we will help those experiencing homelessness to receive the help and services to move from needing help to begin a new path to thrive. In Utah, we are committed to the proposition that homelessness will be rare, brief, and non-recurring.

Vision

The campus is envisioned as a comprehensive hub where individuals experiencing homelessness can access the support and treatment they need to move from homelessness to stability and long-term self-reliance.

Objective

To help those experiencing homelessness with services and support to realize their inherent dignity and walk the path towards stability and human thriving.
